Blaumann Prize

Blaumann Prize 2025

The Blaumann Prize amounts to 20,000 Euros (gross before eventual tax). The Committee may choose to share the total among a maximum of three winners.
Please submit nominations to the Blaumann Foundation using the form below. The deadline of 15/06/2025. Self-nominations are accepted and encouraged.  Eligible candidates must be younger than 35 years old at the time of the nomination deadline.
Nominees must provide a link to an open access repository (such as arxiv.orgphilsci-archive.pitt.edu or similar) containing the pdf or doc file of the theoretical work for which they are submitting the nomination. In exceptional cases, more than one work may be indicated. By accepting the prize, the winner accepts to leave the awarded work in the public domain, published in open access or available for consultation in an open archive.
Works that simply develop existing theories, or propose new physical theories within existing frameworks, will not be considered unless they are strongly and clearly motivated by conceptual arguments.
Works in collaboration with senior colleagues are not eligible, unless a clear motivation is provided that allows the fundamental contribution of the candidate to be clearly recognized. The Prize recognizes originality and innovative thinking, but only if based on strong arguments: speculation with weak motivation is not valued.
Consultants of the Prize, as well as current and former members of the Judging Committee, are not eligible as candidates and cannot collaborate on the works presented.
