Blaumann’s Loop Quantum Gravity School 2025 a Les Houches

The 2025 Blaumann’s Loop Quantum Gravity School, held in Les Houches facing Mont Blanc on the French side, brought together young researchers from all horizons in theoretical physics for two exciting weeks of lectures in and around Loop Quantum Gravity, in a vibrant and friendly atmosphere. The school followed the prestigious tradition of l’Ecole de Physique des Houches founded by Cécile DeWitt-Morette in the early 50s.

In this beautiful site amidst the alpine forest with a breathtaking view on shiny glaciers, enthusiastic Master, PhD students and young postdocs attended lectures by leading researchers on Loop Quantum Gravity (Carlo Rovelli, Eugenio Bianchi), Spinfoam Path Integrals (Etera Livine, Pietro Dona, Qiaoyin Pan), the Deep Quantum Gravity Regime (Alejandro Perez), Quantum Cosmology (Ivan Agullo, Beatriz Elizaga Navascués ), Quantum gravity meets quantum information experiments (Sougato Bose, Markus Aspelmeyer) and Quantum Gravity phenomenology (Francesca Vidotto). Punctuated by sweet summery hikes, sporty mountain biking, Francesca’s greatly appreciated dance & relaxation sessions, these lectures created a deep interest of the students in loop quantum gravity future challenges, and fostered thriving discussions on the profound questions of quantum gravity. And in that chalet beneath the starry mountain sky or electric stormy clouds, the students shaped the evenings with their  ambitious visions of the field. Who knows which of those participants might one day add their name to one of those discrete plaques on the wooden beams among the Nobel prize winners and Field medallists  who once sat on the same benches in the Les Houches lecture hall.
